Tell Us Your Practice Labs in Lithuania

On the 27th of October 2021, LESTU has organised the Tell Us Your Practice Lab in Lithuania with around 25 educators. All participants expressed the need of continuous trainings, linked to the evolving needs of children these days. In particular, it was expressed the importance of strengthening competencies on how to talk with parents about gender stereotypes and fathers’ stronger involvement in the children’s life. Learning from the good experiences would be very welcomed by participants.

In addition, there was an active discussion on why men are not studying/working as a ECEC teachers. One of the identified reasons is rooted on the financial aspect of lower salaries compared to other levels of education, the other is rooted in the stereotype that women are more suited for caring tasks, and reinforced by the lack of role models as ECEC teachers.
