Objective
The main objective of the Practice aims at promoting gender equality principles in private ECEC institutions in Lithuania in order to better identify and combat gender-based stereotypes since early childhood.
Short description of the activities
The principles related to gender equality that the Practice intends to promote are centred on fostering children’s individuality and the respect for diversity as an added value by developing methodological approaches pursuing equal educational opportunities for boys and girls. The implemented activities guarantee the full and active participation of both boys and girls, helping them to develop attitudes led by mutual recognition, autonomy and co-responsibility. Moreover, it has been supported the creation of a network stimulating the reflection and the exchange of information and experiences regarding the gender issue between different educational institutions. The Practice has also spurred a greater involvement of parents in overcoming gender stereotype-led biases at school.
The Practice has contributed to
- Improve access to quality ECEC services and in an inclusive way
