Objective
The Practice aims at promoting a greater involvement of men in childcare and education, stressing their crucial role in improving the well-being of children and counteracting gender-related biases.
Short description of the activities
The Practice provides methodologies for working with fathers, and men in general, in order to further promote their active involvement in the care and upbringing of children, to foster equal and respectful relationships in the family. It has been fostered the view that the active involvement of men in childcare and the strengthening of positive parenting skills can provide a sustainable basis for the prevention of domestic violence and the deconstruction of gender stereotypes. The Practice is aimed at social workers and social educators, but can be easily adapted to other educational contexts.
The Practice has contributed to
- Support the professionalisation of staff working in ECEC contexts, including managerial staff
- Enhance the development of curricula based on pedagogical goals, values and approaches that enable children to reach their full potential in a holistic way.
