Objective
The main objective of the Practice aims at raising awareness of responsible citizenship in the preschool system.
Short description of the activities
The Practice has been carried out by implementing a course during which children had the chance to acquire the main contents of the Italian Republic’s Constitution with the aim of developing skills based on the values of responsibility, participation and solidarity. The topics addressed by the course are as follows: wellness education (food, personal care and hygiene); safety education; citizenship education and environmental education.
The Practice has contributed to
- Improve access to quality ECEC services and in an inclusive way
- Support the professionalisation of staff working in ECEC contexts, including managerial staff
- Enhance the development of curricula based on pedagogical goals, values and approaches that enable children to reach their full potential in a holistic way
- Promote the monitoring and evaluation of progress made through the establishment and delivery of high quality ECEC provision and practice
