Objective
The main objective of the PATH project aims at “institutionalizing” emotional education in the European preschool and primary school systems, fostering emotional empowerment as well as generating synergies with scientific research bodies. By strengthening children’s emotional self-control and self-reflection, they are more willing to overcome different kind of discrimination, such as the gender-related ones.
Short description of the activities
The project core activities are training courses and seminars on Teachers from preschool and primary schools are involved in multidisciplinary courses aiming at creating a minimum quality standard for the professional training of teachers on emotional education. Teachers, as direct beneficiaries of the project, have been taking part in specific “Training of Trainers” supporting them to develop and refine their emotional competencies in order to better help children strengthen their self-control and impulsiveness. During the trainings, teachers have the chance to acquire methodologies and strategies to be replicated during classes, with the aim of increasing children’s active participation in the learning process and develop their life skills such as empathy and emotion management.
